Many people, especially young people today believes that they are going through many series of depression although they can not really identify what depression is. A lot of people say that depression is a temporary feeling of sadness. So many people these days say, “I’m depressed,” easily during a conversation when they feel sad. Feeling sad is normal for everyone since people can go through events in life that dissatisfies them. However, feeling blue does not mean you are actually suffering from depression. These days, many people who aren’t aware of depressions result, pay less attention to it. However, depression is actually a disease just like cancer. Many people believe disease is a condition that occurred from virus, germs or by being a host for parasites. However, the real definition for disease in current days dictionary is “a condition of the living animal or plant body or of one of its parts that impairs normal functioning: sickness, malady” “Webster Online”. Depression is a disease that affects in both physical ways and mental ways. In physical terms, a person can suffer insomnia, oversleeping, fatigue and many others symptoms, and in mental ways, the person can feel guilt, constant sadness, many mistakes, slowed mind, and depending on how the patient reacts to these symptoms, it can also affect social part of health. Even though depression is a dangerous, many people who aren’t aware of its symptoms, often ignore and care less serious about it. We are all unaware of one thing or another during one point in our lives. Like when we were toddlers, looking a pot of water, boiling over the stove. We are unaware the pot is extremely hot. Our curiosity takes over us. We are compelled to touch the unique bubbles coming from the pot. We touch it, and it hurts. It hurts a lot. What lesson did we learn here? Not to touch a boiling pot of water. How did we learn this? Through experimentation and, trial and error. By taking one step back, feeling the pain of burning skin, we take two steps forward, by being aware that the boiling pot is very hot and never touch it again. This scenario relates to the tragic occurrences endured by the world on September 11, 2001. Now, approximately one month later, military action is necessary to win the battle against terrorism and secure the lives of present and future citizens of the world. Military action will not only help prevent further incidents from occurring, but also aid the controversial government situation in Afghanistan and a save countless numbers of lives. Although Aboriginals modified their landscape, particularly through their use of fire, the impacts they made did not substantially damage the environment. In contrast, the white settlers quite deliberately set out to tame, civilize, and exploit the land. The native flora was affected by clearing, grazing, and introduction of foreign plants. Likewise, the fauna has had serious competition from introduced animals. Over half of Australia’s wetlands have been destroyed in various ways, and our seas also fail to escape human impact. The land itself suffers from erosion, salinity, and desertification, as well as considerable change in the terrain. Industrial centres and the nation’s cars affect the atmosphere. Each of these issues are closely inter-related. The seriousness of the impacts of 207 years of white settlement make it clear that the supporting ideologies are no longer sustainable. There are some theories that suggest motivation is thoughtful and rational decision-like process. One of the major theories from this type of approach is expectancy theory (e.g., Vroom, 1964). Expectancy theory basically says that people choose their behaviors based on the subjective estimation that such behaviors lead to the valued outcomes. Vroom’s valence-instrumentality-expectancy theory (VIE theory) states that there are three main components that affect human motivation. Valence is the degree in which the outcome the person will have is valuable for him/her. Instrumentality represents the degree in which the first outcome (e.g., performance) leads to the final valued outcome. Expectancy refers to the subjective probability that a certain effort or behavior leads to the first outcome or performance. VIE theory suggests that the multipricative function of valence, instrumentality and expectancy represents motivational force, which predicts a person’s choice (e.g., goal choice). Hopefully you will never encounter what is called an Eating Disorder. Eating Disorders mostly consist of, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Obesity and Compulsive Eating, although Obesity and Compulsive Eating are closely linked.

Anorexia is “Starvation,” by starving yourself. People who have Anorexia Nervosa starve themselves to be skinny, not eating a thing. Bulimia Nervosa is, “vomiting what you eat.” People, who suffer from Bulimia, eat foods that are high in calories or fat, then vomit what they eat, often they take diet pills, laxatives or diuretics, to make them keep their weight off. Obesity is said to be a “mental problem, more than an Eating Disorder.” It is a large accumulation of fat in the body. Compulsive Eaters usually eat when emotionally upset or stressed.
