Posted at: March 31, 2009 under: Sample Research Proposals by admin @ 11:07 am

Although the United States Constitution provides that “all men are created equal,” women, non-Caucasian races, and lower class citizens alike have been excluded from that equality in the distant to recent past. It was if the term “men” were to be interpreted literally Evolution of Equal Educational Opportunities for Women to deny women the same freedom, opportunity, and education as men.

The denial of equal educational opportunities for women is a practice that the people who colonized America brought with them from their native countries. Likewise, practices in those countries were inherited from various ruling empires in that particular country’s history. For example, the Greeks have had a long history of influencing education on the European continent. (more…)

Introduction
With the fast-paced globalization and technological development, the world is stepping into the era of informationalism. It is characterized by the advances in computing technology and the global network of telecommunications, in which English is “selected” as the lingua franca (common communicative language) . Subsequently, the demand for learning English as the second language (ESL) or the foreign language (EFL) keeps growing into the past few decades. English is turning to an international language (EIL) or a global language (EGL) or a world language (EWL). This undoubtedly leads to a series of consequences. These consequences, involving nationality problem, arouse hot controversies among linguists and educators.

Thesis Statement
People living under this new economic order are pushed to learn this common language. However, in what ways should we learn it? What material should teachers pick up? (more…)

How to Write a Good Research Proposal

Posted at: under: Research Proposal Help by admin @ 4:12 am

While applying for a research degree, like the PhD, scholars come across writing a research proposal as a part of their application file. A PhD is awarded mainly as the result of one’s genuine contribution to the state of knowledge in a specific field of interest chosen. Even though it doesn’t earn the Nobel Prize for the scholars yet, getting the degree means that the scholar has added something to what has previously been known on the subject of research. It is a great honor.

What actually is a research proposal?

A research proposal is the frame of the idea which a scholar wishes to pursue. A good research proposal presumes that the scholar has devoted his time and descent efforts in gathering information about the field, reading and has organized his thoughts about it. (more…)

Dissertation on Language

Posted at: March 24, 2009 under: Sample Dissertations by admin @ 8:21 am

In this dissertation chapter on language, I will endeavor to: define Communicative Language Teaching; when and why it became an important approach in foreign language teaching; discuss attitudes to it; define communicative activities; discuss learner-directed activities and the teacher’s role; give examples of communicative activities and discuss the place of Communicative Language Teaching in my own teaching situation.

Put simply, the aim of Communicative Language Teaching is to help students move beyond mastering the structures in a foreign language to the point where they can use them to communicate meaningfully in real life situations. This assumes that people who learn the English language want to be able to communicate socially on an everyday basis with native or very able English language speakers. They will also want to be able to live normal lives if they are visiting, or living in, countries where English is the primary language. (more…)

Posted at: March 19, 2009 under: Sample Theses by admin @ 6:33 am

Introduction
The direction of the economy is truly challenging ahead. As we evolve gracefully from new economy to k-economy, business leaders have recognised the dependence on how fast an organisation, can align itself to the general and task influence PEST-I (ie. Politics, Economy, Social, Technology and Internationalisation) environment in determining corporate survival. Either evolve with the economic perspective or be extinct. And Given the continual changes in the environment, businesses must be built around these turbulent conditions. Thus, a pivotal success factor for companies adapting to these changes begins within, the need for a strategic Human Resource (HR) department.

Feedbacks from CEOs of US based companies interviewed by HR Magazine (Leonard 1998) have reinforced the importance and the strategic role of HR Management (HRM). (more…)
